Monday, Monday…..

It’s officially Monday….and the first wash day of the week. It’s actually an odd day. Sometimes I look forward to the start of a new week and at other times, I’m too tired to get it jump-started. It’s usually a day when my list of calls to be made is long, and chores seems the heaviest. I’ve tried mixing up the schedule to make it an easier day, but it just doesn’t work. Maybe it’s because the day before, the day of rest, hasn’t been a day of rest.

I know there have to be people like me who feel like the “Day of Rest” is anything but that. We have morning and evening services, and if I’m lucky, a nap in the afternoon. Maybe, I need to schedule the nap every Sunday to make Monday an easier transition. Sunday should be the best day of the week as we gathered together for a public worship.

My writing is coming along. I’m still busy with the rewrite of a manuscript from long ago. So long ago, I don’t even remember some of the scenes. Now, that’s bad. I used to be amazed at how an actor could forget a scene they’d done ten years before or an author not remember a particular character they created, but now I do. The brain hard-drive can only handle so much and the rest goes into storage in some far away land.

Yard work is upon us. We are trying to beat the clock before crabgrass rears its ugly head again this year. It was brutal last year and took over the entire yard by surprise. This year, we’re fighting back…and my muscles feel it. We’ve raked over 10 yard bags of old crabgrass and it’s not finished.

Hope you have a lovely Monday…I’m trying hard to survive mine. :-)

Hugs,
Beth
