Life is Hard–God is Good!

It’s June already and so much has happened since the last blog. Life can be very difficult as many of you know, but I am reassured that God is always good.

Four years ago my father suffered a stroke which dramatically changed his life. He was never able to return to his home of 50 years, lost his driving abilities and had to move into an assisted living facility. His independence was gone! He has been such a trooper through all of these hardships. He lost the use of his right leg and despite his valiant efforts at physical therapy, he has spent most of his time in a wheelchair. His health has been on the decline since that time with several hospitalizations.

Two weeks ago he had yet another set back and two major abdominal surgeries. His life has once again dramatically changed. He has spent several days in the I.C.U. and is now barely clinging to life. We had to move his furniture out of the assisted living place he’d called home for the past four years and I said goodbye to the friends he’d made. It all seems so unfair.

As I watch my 82-year-old father go through this new season in his life, I pray that God will extend His grace to my dad and to others who are also suffering. My father’s time on this earth feels like it’s coming to a close. Yes, I do ask God questions and yes, I plead my father’s case before Him, but I also know that God and His promises are always true. Although my heart grieves, it also rejoices to know my Heavenly Father is very much involved in the situation.

As always, your prayers are greatly appreciated. Pray that God might be able to use our family to show His powerful love to others who are hurting.

Keep Looking UP,

Beth
